Fera’s Journal

Day 1

I’ve decided to keep a journal to help me keep up with which areas I’ve searched, and to help sort out my thoughts. Tailus is stable now, but the doctors say he could get worse at any time. Thankfully Tamara came to watch him. As much as I wanted to be there for him, I bought a throw-away phone and started looking for Gracidea flowers first thing this morning. I searched around Green Fields and Golden Forest. I saw plenty of Pokemon and flowers, but no Gracidea flowers. Tailus is sweating in his sleep. I hope he wakes up soon. I don’t know what else to write…

Day 2

Tailus is stable. The hospital frowns on Pokemon running through the halls, so I brought everyone to the Ranch to stay, except Eev. He hasn’t left Tailus’ side since he collapsed. I spent the rest of the day hiking Dark and Bright Mountain. Had a few scares from aggressive wild pokemon, but no flowers. Maybe I’ll have better luck tomorrow.

Day 3

Didn’t sleep much. Tailus worsened over night, but the doctors stabilized him. Spent the morning keeping our Pokemon company and making phone calls about flowers, but they said they aren’t available this time of year. I’ll try again tomorrow. There has to be some somewhere. Used the rest of the day searching the coast and going all the way to Pink Rock and back. Ratava evolved into Espeon, but his personality didn’t change much. He actually seems more full of himself than ever. After I got back, I called more people. Still nothing. Gracidea flowers are rare for a reason I guess.

Day 4

Couldn’t sleep again. Got an early start in the Sand Dune Desert. Checked every oasis before going to the Underground Tunnel, but the guides there said there aren’t any flowers. I did stumble across a Sun Stone. Lum was excited to hold it, and he suddenly evolved! He startled a guide when he flipped off the nearest wall. That was the highlight of the day. It went by too fast.

Day 5

Everything was quiet at the hospital today, so I hoofed it across the mainland, around the Deep Blue Sea and Battle Stadium, and ended up in the Emerald Jungle. I kept seeing pink flowers, but they weren’t the right ones. I should have searched faster, but I kept getting distracted by Pokemon. It’s like they didn’t even care I was there. I guess they aren’t used to seeing people. I can barely keep my eyes open, so maybe I’ll actually sleep tonight.

Day 6

I’m feeling a lot more energetic this morning, maybe because our Pokemon kept me company last night. Finished searching around Sky Blue Hill and Red Lake, and finally headed into Black Cave. I got a message that there was a hidden flower garden somewhere, but it took me the rest of the day to find it, and an Onix had already flattened the area for its nest. Every day that passes is another day Tailus gets lost deeper in nightmares. I can’t help but feel like I’m not doing enough, but I don’t know what else to do. I’ve called everyone I know to call, and bugged every shop on the mainland, even the shady ones in Butterscotch City. If not for Tamara and our Pokemon, I think I’d go crazy. I was surprised though that some of the florists knew about me. I’ve got some nice messages from people I don’t even know, and now the Professor and all his aides are trying to help. That’s good news for once. Just keep moving toward tomorrow.

Day 7

Tailus got a lot worse today. He’s on a respirator now. I was afraid to stray too far from the hospital, so I checked around the island’s landmarks. After that, I returned to Fairy’s Playground. It seemed like an obvious place to search for pink flowers, but it was actually almost impossible to search every flower there. I wanted to be with Tailus though so I headed back early. Tamara was looking a little tired herself, so I took watch for her. Eev has been watching harder than the both of us though. I swear, those two are inseparable. I don’t know what I’ll do if-I don’t want to think about it. Good night.

Day 8

As soon as Tamara got back from breakfast, I headed to Elijah Woods to check the flowers in bloom there. I was surprised when I ran into a familiar face there. It was Plum, the fishing guru! When she heard what was happening, she volunteered to finish searching the woods for me since she knew her way around better than I did. I know I would have gotten lost, so I couldn’t thank her enough. I used the remaining daylight to check the few suspect places I hadn’t checked. I guess that just leaves the unlikely places, but I said I’d check every square mile of Rainbow, and that’s what I plan to do. Now I have to sleep though. The scratching of my pen is disturbing Zelda anyway.

Day 9

Today, Tailus went into cardiac arrest while I was out. I rushed back so fast that I lost my phone somewhere around Orange Volcano. By the time I got to the hospital, Tailus was already stable, but he was thrashing and moaning in his sleep so bad. I couldn’t handle being there and went right back out to search. The only major place left I could think of was beyond Rainbow Road. I borrowed Mac to avoid the locals, but it was difficult to search the ground and keep myself from having a panic attack at the same time. I feel like I missed something, so I’ll go back on foot tomorrow. If I don’t find anything tomorrow though, I think I’ll just stay at the hospital. I want to be there for Tailus. I feel like I’m giving up, but I’ve done all I can do. Tamara keeps telling me to stay positive, but I don’t know how she can be so calm. I don’t know how much time he has left. I don’t want to think about it. I have to sleep. Try to anyway. Everything will be better tomorrow...
